Let Wheelz be your guide to Niagara Icewine Festival events

At Wheelz Niagara, we know our region’s residents look forward to January each year – not for the weather, but for a series of events celebrating one of our unique agricultural products.

We’re talking about the frozen grapes Niagara wineries turn into icewine, and the events that celebrate its production every year.

Niagara Ice WineFor three weekends in January, Niagara is transformed into a winter wonderland, in celebration of Ontario icewine. This year, the 23rd edition of the Niagara Icewine Festival offers plenty for every taste, with unique wine and food pairings at more than 35 wineries, and vibrant outdoor street festivals.

From Jan. 12 through Jan. 28, Niagarans welcome visitors to tour our wineries and partake in the delights offered by this unique festival.

On its website at, festival organizers offer a list of participating wineries, along with hospitality information and a full calendar of events.

If you can’t decide on where to visit, picking up a Discovery Pass might help – it’s your ticket to eight unique pairings at more than 35 wineries across Niagara.

There is so much to see and just three available weekends to take it all in! Booking your festival tour with Wheelz means you can fit as much as possible into one day, or pace yourselves and stretch out your visits to more than one of the three weekends.

What People are Saying

We booked the photography tour, not because we’re all photographers, but because we felt it would ensure we saw the best views/sites in the area on our first day out. We planned the rest of our outings from there, and what our tour guide Harold Hutchings told us. He gave us great guide tips and, as a local, was super knowledgeable of the area.
